Headlight Interior Lens Tarnished

I have a 1999 996 Cab (2nd owner), 112K and the headlights interior lens are tarnished (always been this way since I bought it 2009). The theory is that the original owner swapped out high output bulbs that caused the yellowing. I'm working on exterior cosmetics of the car and the headlights kind of stick out. Question is does anybody rebuild / clean up these headlight assembles? Or just search for another clean set? I pulled one out to see if the outer cover would separate to access the interior lens and I stopped short for fear of breaking it. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks Bob

The lens assemblies are held in by a heat activated glue; to get them apart, they need to be heated in an oven.
