996 CD Holder Removal w/Full Leather?

Hi all-

I've done my research and understand how quick and simple it is to remove the CD holder and replace with the storage shelf, which I have ready to go.

Not wanting to screw anything up, I thought I would triple check and make sure the CD holder can still be pulled straight out in a full-leather interior. I'm sure if the full leather option requires the side panels to be removed to prevent their leading edges from being torn up when the CD holder is pulled out.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can confirm- I didn't see any feedback in the numerous existing posts about removing the CD holder.
