Fuse Panel Refresh

My 996 has the carbon fiber interior option.

I have found some resellers from Europe that sell carbon fiber “non smoker shelf insert” and carbon fiber fuse panel cover. (Corner panel cover.) I would like to replace my ashtray with something more practical, hence the non smoker shelf insert.

The prices are reasonable but I haven’t felt comfortable to pull the trigger from a foreign vendor. Pelican does not sell them.

So in the meantime, I wrapped my fuse box cover with a carbon fiber film and replaced the ashtray with a black “non smoker shelf insert” from our host.

Overall the end result is acceptable until I can source the real McCoy. Even though the black non smoker shelf doesn’t match 100%, it is far more functional than the useless ashtray.

Looks good. I re-do those pieces in carbon. Tedious.

Please elaborate. . . If I send you a non smoker shelf like the one posted do you apply carbon fiber on it?
