Power steering pump return pipe

Got a leak on the bottom part of the reservoir where return pipe goes into.Thought it would be the o ring.So was going to purchase new bottom part of the reservoir.But after i took the pipe out of the reservoir it as a scratch where its been pushed into fitting on the reservoir.So not sure now if the fault is with the o ring or the pipe.Anyone any ideas
