996 Lifter Saddle
Has anyone that has had lifter scoring on the top and bottom of the lifter tried removing the razor sharp edge on the top and bottom of the saddle bore. I am hoping this will help to prevent the razor sharp edge from causing more damage? Or when replacing all the lifters with new ones. Just breaking the edge with 1200 grit then polishing the edge with fine rouge so it is not sharp.

When scored or cracked, they get replaced in our shop. Can't run the risk of an issue. Do it right. Try your options suggested if you are willing to risk removing engine and trying again with new parts. It may work, may not. Weight the risks of doing it again vs dollars and decide.
Cheers

I agree in replacing the lifters with new ones but I have experienced even new lifters scored in 3K when the lifter saddle has the sharp edge . I have seen this sharp edge on all saddles and that is the area that almost all worn lifters show scoring is on the top and bottom. Replacing the saddles world be great but 1K plus lifters is $$$$$
