Morning Everyone.
Right I've gone and done a silly thing, I disconnected my battery on my 997.1 TT as I was not using it enough and the battery was draining, which I thought was a good plan at the time, so that's what I did, but the silly part was I close the hood and it locked and now it will not open as no power ![]() as soon as I closed the lid I though that's not good ![]() So everyone what's the best route to go down ?

The Owner's Manual for my 997.2 shows a different method, which might also apply to the OP's 997.1. Here's what my manual says (Emergency unlocking of the luggage compartment lid, p. 262 of Owner's manual):
1. Use the key to unlock the door. 2. Remove the plastic cover from the fuse box. (It's in the driver's-side footwell.) 3. Pull out the positive terminal C (red) in the fuse box using the plastic gripper A (yellow). 4. Use a jumper cable to connect the positive terminal of the donor battery to the positive terminal C in the fuse box. 5. Use the black jumper cable to connect the negative terminal of the donor battery to the door arrester D. 6. Press button 2 on the remote control for approx. 2 seconds to unlock the luggage compartment lid. The alarm system is switched off. 7. Disconnect the negative cable first, then the positive cable. 8. Push positive terminal C into the fuse box and push on the plastic fuse box cover. I've recently done some work inside the doors on the 996 I previously owned as well as the 997.2 that I currently own. In both cases I disconnected the battery so as not to trigger the airbags. I put a block of wood across the body latch point to keep the hood from closing all the way.

If that doesn't work, the suggestion by @rfuerst911sc looks like a solution. Some obvious advice for the future: If you disconnect your battery, make sure your hood can't close!

Morning Everyone
![]() I have managed to get in to the hood now by using the emergency pull cable inside the inner wheel arch, you have to remove the arch liner or loosen it enough to get your hand up and in, and the cable is in the very top left hand corner on the wheel arch, I never removed the wheel just hand it in full left hand lock. What i will say is if you pop your side indicator/repeater out you can just see the cable, so you might be able to use a coat hanger if the end of the cable is looped or long nosed pliers if they are narrow and very long nosed, if not it's the wheel liner way. The easier way just don't discount your battery or if you do don't shut or lock the hood ... I also had to reprogramme the alarm to the car keys ..... Thanks to all who commented
