Posting question
While I know this may not be totally appropriate place to post this but noticing something that seems to be occurring very often. Most of the new ( rookies or scammers) do not list their location in bio/registration. With shipping costs being a significant cost, seems important as well as way to ferret out trash.
Admin ….what say you.

I have often thought of starting this very same post.
The idea of thinking of yourself as secret squirrel is "just nuts " For 17 years I was scrubbed from the web , That was then and this is now , My Zip and State are posted . I think the admin would rater not police the forum for petty things, but we as members may be able to make something work. I think we all should have to post a $100 bond to PP to be a member , and after a year of holding , we can then apply it to a pelican purchase . A win , win ,,,, or just set up a volunteer program which says we have bonded , that might look good in a signature . Just my thoughts Ian

Those are great points and Pelican should address them or review the posts better.

When I first started selling on here I did not have my location. There was no requirement for that. I had many people ask so I did put it in. I also now generally add my location in the post as well. Good point for Pelican to review.

I'm probably not fully appreciating the idea here, but,....
Other than estimating shipping costs, and just knowing the honest people a little better, what else do we hope to gain? As one who had to work hard to outwit the scammers, the scammers obviously lie and cheat so we shouldn't expect them to indicate their real, actual location. That isn't going to happen. I can say per my experience, unless you are using the Pelican system PMs, you will get in trouble really quickly. Don't share any email or cell numbers publicly.

First, it helps you judge…..offer to buy many times is “shipped”. If you are in Florida and it goes to Seattle…..not too attractive versus Atlanta. Also if they play games with location you have an “ indicator”
Seems people always want to take issue with a logical request…..sad!

I always ask for location. If they get squirelly, I mention that I have a friend that lives nearby and can meet them in person. Crazy excuses or radio silence will tell the tale.

While on the subject of posting peeves, I hate it when someone posts a link to another site or forum. If you can cut n paste the link, why not just do the actual ad ?Everytime I see cross post, click to go somewhere else it just bugs me. Terry, how are you doing?
