Battery Change for my 996.2

Hi I will be changing the battery on my 2003 996.2 Targa
- I always keep the car on a Cetek battery maintainer when not in use
- I read somewhere that you can keep the maintainer connected to the Battery cables when changing the battery to prevent any issues with the on board computer.
- Has anyone used this method and have any recommendations on this procedure.

Thanks Jim Russo

yes I've used a battery tender on the car side of the battery wires "hot" during a battery change.
