porsche boxster 2002

my battery died on my boxster and the "normal" way of opening with a dead battery does not work, I have heard there is a manual front hood release but i am having trouble finding it. Is it on the driers side wheel well or passenger side wheel well? And are the pictures anywhere that show its location? And how to avoid this happening again, not the dead battery but the hood seems to not want to open if its closed just a little to hard, not slammed but just simply dropped from about 2 feet. Thanks ahead of time for any help!

There are a couple of options,. Here is one that you can use to power up the system:https://www.google.com/search?q=boxster+2002+open+frunk+dead+battery&rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS864US864&oq=boxster+2002+open+frunk+dead+battery&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i299.15151j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:bd21acbb,vid:rYJiqchQ_Wg,st:0
