Value of rebuilt 3.4 heads
Last year I had an engine failure at the crank of a 3.4 engine in my Boxster track car. The engine had approx 2500 miles or so since a rebuild by the PO. After the failure, I dismantled the engine and indeed found a fresh rebuild and don't know exactly why the #6 rod failed to be oiled and burned up and broke.
That being said, the heads have been inspected and 3 bent valves have been replaced. I also had the frost plugs removed and replaced with threaded plugs. The heads were inspected and found to have perfect seats and guides. All valves looked brand new, which concurs with the PO statements at the time of sale. My question is what are the heads worth, as I plan to sell them complete with cams, and all variocam and supplemental oiling components. They will be bolt on ready. Thanks for the feedback.

Interesting. I see cores selling for 1000 bucks each. Machining heads and installing valves and guides is certainly more than $1000 for the pair. I think the 3K is on the low end of fair. But, thank you for your reply.

Here is one example of reconditioned heads . Like anything else price can vary . Also different areas of the country the price can be quite different . Hopefully you get whatever price you want for them .
