How to pinpoint front suspension or driveline noise?

I have a 2002 996TT that has a minor clunk in the front drivetrain or suspension. It isn't apparent until the car is driven for awhile, generally only noticeable at low speeds, no noise at high speed, no vibration.

I'm not really sure how to approach troubleshooting. Hoping someone has some experience in this area and can offer some steps to follow...

The way we chase odd noises in suspension is to mount several electronic ear sensors around the suspected area and take the car for a drive; the sensors will record the sounds and quickly help isolate the issue.

That kind of clunk at low speeds sounds familiar, could be worn control arm bushings, drop links, or even the top strut mounts. Personally I’d start by checking those areas first, especially once the suspension’s warmed up.
