Talk me out of buying a 996 MK1 / 996 MK2

Thinking, if i sell my (beloved ?) '96 M3 I would have about half the money needed for a high-mile 996. Thinking....

Thing is, I always regret a bit selling cars after I sell them. (...the 914.. the '71 F-100 ..the 86 vw.. all except the Miata's, since i feel i could always 'jump back in' if really i wanted to. But I don't ! & The Ford was rusting out.. the 914 had its soots of rust but now i think: "not too bad" )
My '83 SC is racking up the miles, because it so g'dammed dependable.
I could see going modern but staying Porsche, of course i would never sell the 911SC, the Beemer : maybe

You will miss the M3 but the 996 may be a better "investment" in the long run.

The nice thing about an M3 is that they are a bit more inconspicuous than a Porsche. They blend into the background better. The feel and handling of the 996 will surpass the M3, however.

I've had an 81SC for about four years and just recently picked up a 996TT Tip with 59k miles for $42k on FB Marketplace - I had to fix a couple minor things.

Bottom line - The TT is the best car I've ever owned for daily driving. I installed the BellWorks paddle shift kit and a Softronic tune.

You will not regret it.

I daily drove a 996 40 Jahre for a few years. Would do so again in a second. It's what I bought after I sold my 86 Carrera. No regrets.
