falter or hesitation from idle

86 951, engine falters from idle, once I am up to speed and not accelerating the engine runs fine. If I step on accelerater the engine hesitates again. Any ideas?

Vacuum leak under boost? That's happened to me a couple of times. A hose clamp will fail and then whenever you get into boost it'll all vent off and screw up the fuel metering.

Aaron,

Thanks, this problem is not related to boost, it starts faltering when I raise the rpm from idle. If I add rpm very slowly I can get the car up to speed. If I step on the gas once I'm at 30-40mph the car stutters everytime

I still think that something vacuum related is likely.

I agree with Aaron, it sounds like some sort of a vacum leak. I would also look at your intake, mine did it when there was a leak around the BOV.....simple hose clamp fixed mine.
