Injectors

is it possible to use 55 injectors on a stock chip with a 3 bar fpr? I want to do as much as possible before getting a chip so i only have to do it once. and i know my injectors are prolly shot so im looking at siemens 55 from LR. can it be done and still run good?

Have you tried sending them off to be professionally cleaned? I sent mine a couple of years ago to Marren's. Big improvement.

I really want to upgrade them being they need replacement anyway. Its something i plan on doing anyway so it would be a waste of money fixing mine

No, you cannot use larger injectors without changing the chip. There is no way for the stock chip to know that you are using larger injectors so it will use the same duty cycle that it uses for the stock injectors, causing you to run very rich at idle and off-boost, as well as running rich on-boost if you are running stock boost levels.

You need to have the chip matched to the injectors.

EDIT: Also, unless you are saturating the stock injectors (usually doesn't happen until 275-300 RWHP) you really won't see any benefit to larger injectors. They need to be matched to the chip and to boost levels.

Unless you get a chip, you need to have the stock injectors (or injectors with identical flow rates to stock). If you get a chip, you need to be sure to specify the flow rate of the injectors you will be using when you order it.

You might be able to have the current injectors rebuilt by a competant FI shop, which is probably your most cost-effective option.
