Anyone know of someone using one of these eBay bumper covers??

item number is: 8072055479

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSCHE-944-TURBO-951-ONE-PIECE-BUMPER-LIP-AIR-DAM-NOSE_W0QQitemZ8072055479QQihZ019QQcategoryZ36475QQ rdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

(or try clicking here)

Just curious as to fit and overall quality (i'm guessing bad but hoping good).

hmmm. not the greatest idea. whenever you need access to the intercooler, you'd have to pull off the entire nose (unless you're only using it to pimp your n/a )

yes, but how how often do you need to access the intercooler? Apparently I need a bumper cover AND that piece of metal between the headlights, so I'm actually weighing this as an option (albeit not very heavily).

well, it's a matter of personal preference. I like having access to that area, and it also came in handy when some dope backed into my car and bent the nosepanel. it was much easier to remove the panel for repair than if I had to remove the whole bumper cover. the nosepanel is notorious for getting bent up by people around you who don't know how to parallel park. and come to think of it, if that would have happened with the one-piece setup, it would have cracked instead of bending. add the removal of the whole shebang to the cost of the repair and...

just my thoughts

Yeah, the whole one piece thing is a little worrisome. Plus, i've yet to hear from someone who's taken the plunge on one of these. Like I said, definitely a little wary about fitment issues. I guess some affordable stock stuff will come around eventually...I'll just keep my eyes open.

good point. fitment issues would be my primary concern as well. I'll keep my eyes open and see if I can get you anything

by the way, that 'intercooler vent' nose cutout is actually worse for performance.

i had to test it and see for myself.

i think the raised mod works, but the el-cheapo stock cutout mod does not.

it raises the nose so that a bigger intercooler can fit in there, and also flattens out the face to provide a high-pressure area to force the air through;
