Car up in the air and in neutral. Spin one rear wheel. If the other does not spin, or spins backwards, the LSD is shot. If the other wheel spins in the same direction, it's OK.

there actually is a way to check if the LSD clutch is okay. it involves jacking up one side of the car, and using a torque wrench to turn the free wheel to measure the amount of slip resistance. i don't recall what the actual numbers were, but they should be in here if you do a search.

If you jack up one side and turn one rear wheel by hand, it should feel like there's some resistance, like a brake is dragging just a bit.
That would be interesting to see what the torque reading should be. I know my lsd is in good shape, I could try to get a reading sometime today, I'll bet it's a pretty low #.

So what happens when you spin one of the output shafts? Does the other side go the same way?, or opposite?

So I jacked one side of my car up, and tried both my torque wrenches, but both are apparently too heavy, the resistance of the lsd was too low to make either torque wrench clic even on 0 pounds.

I have a snap-on 1/2" drive, and a mac 3/8" drive, they're the 'click' type where the handle spins to adjust the setting, so whatever is minimum is not low enough, it appears they go to zero, but there's some few pounds resistance there.
