Hey everyone again its been a while . Ive got my '88 924s here almost running, but it still refuses to start even with injector pulse and spark.
It's got new gas in it with stabilizer, and everything seems to be functioning- tested DME, running fuel pump, new DME relay, new filter, new fuel pressure regulator, new spark plugs, new plug wires, new speed/ reference sensors, BUT my fuel pressure builds a little slowly, reaches 2.5 bar, and then when i shut it off drops off too quickly.
The fuel pump is a used unit that I installed recently, and it could be that theres a problem with it. Regardless, ive got pressure. I have yet to test the actual voltage to the injectors, and I also wonder if theyre gummed up. Anyhoo Id appreciate anyones ideas. Thanks,

Have you checked the check valve that screws into the fuel pump? Its between the pump and the fuel filter. Usually pressure dropping off quickly is a faulty one of these. They are cheap and not terribly difficult to replace if you have done the fuel pump before.

I agree with Techno with the fuel pressure leaking off problem, but I don't think that is what's causing it not to run. To get an engine to run you need four things...ignition, fuel, compression and timing. Do a search for "five minute test" from SoCal Driver and you will find a five minute test that will help you isolate the problem. Follow that and let us know what you find.

If the car has been sitting for sometime, the injectors may not work properly. I just installed a used motor, and even though I had injector pulse at the harness, the injectors were not shooting fuel. A few light taps to the injector while someone was cranking the motor freed them up. Hope this helps
