I don't get why most of the 944's on e-bay say that they have anti-lock brakes? I mean hardly any of them do!

Apparently he drives a Porsche 4720.
That is some creative use of plumbers strap for the air filter. I should talk though.. my light weight battery is held down by some plumbers strap.. ![]() I must say though, not in bad shape for 230k miles. Also its already got a better maitenence history than more than half the cars on ebay at a given time. Recent clutch and timing belt!

The muffler looks like the remnants of Little Boy from World War II.

Ah. 4720. Took a little longer than Eldo.
Just what is the purpose of the little filter I assume is piped to the belt housing. It's little cues like this and the sewage pipe strapping that make me wonder how much the owner REALLY knows about 94X's. At least he knew about the belts...or then again, maybe someone told him it would be a good selling point. hmm..

The little filters are usually tied with the crank case breathers.
The little filter on the 944 is actually useless in that position as its filtering air coming out from the belt cover. The belt cover vent was actually deleted on the later cars and capped off.

i thought it sucked air into the belt area to keep that area cool... which is why it was deleted.. debris and what not having a chance to go in and bork up the belts.

The belt covers do not suck up air, It was simply an air vent. The vent was deleted because it was possible for water to get sucked up through the hose and into the intake.

I think this car is up for the identity crisis award. Good news, it's salvagable!
WTF is a Zeto Turbine muffler? Gives it that F-15 sound? Oh yeah, 4720... would be a 1972 914 VIN...
