Excellence Magazine always has good price ranges and you could always check the classifieds here on Pelican or over on Rennist.com to get a feel for what your dollar could fetch. I don't have my excellence mag with me but I think $7000 for a very used to $12,000 for a real nice one is a range.

Chime in everybody else!

I haven't looked for those particular cars but Autotrader.com has some great deals come up from time to time.

Out here in California, high mileage S2's (160k miles and up) often sell below $5k. I sold one this summer for only $4k, in fact. Here's another recent sale (no affiliation): http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/car/222429002.html

I just purchased a 1989 S2 Coupe for $10,750 here in Northern Virginia. The car is in very good condition with 112,000 miles.

Don't forget to check on the cam chain tensioner. As you know it's must for these 16V's . I picked up my 87 S with 90k in MD for $4800, good condition inside and out. But needed front rotors, and a fuel filter hose.

I got one recently with all the big things done recently, but with high miles for 4K. It's shaggy, of course, has a rattle or 3, and the sunroof is an in or out deal, but it's a great base for racing.

So far, the only real issue is oil dripping out of it, but hey, it's only been 4 or 5 months so far, LOL.
