Power steering fluid?

What kind do I need to buy -- Autoparts store couldn't tell me (go figure)

PS fluid in the 944 should be ATF.

I think it's Dexron III Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) if I remember right.

Yep - Dextron 3 ATF. Don't buy the overly-expensive kind, either. That's just overkill for what you need, IMHO.

i've gotta flush mine unfortunately... it's been running for a few years now on just plain "power steering fluid" from penzoil... the two previous owners that i talked to said that's all they ever used in it..
