Lower temp. thermo-switch drains battery?
Hi,
Recently I install a lower temp theormo switch (73/85 degree) on my 944S2.
The 2 fans runs properly and no overheat happens.
However, when the car off, the lower speed fan still keeps running until the coolant temp drops below 73 degree (I think) It approx takes 3-4 mins (sometimes 5-6 mins) to cool down. Can it drain the battery?
The battery was dead yesterday. I just bought it few months. I am charging the battery now. Will do a test on alternator tomorrow.
I am just thinking if the "long cooling time" causes the battery dead?
Thanks.
Kay

3 to 5 minutes to cool of is typical. Check the battery and the charging system (as you are doing).
