I wanted to tell everyone to set your TIVO's, speedvision is televising the nationals at Heartland Park. The GT2 class was on today with a Micheal Muren in a 944 and a GT3 cup car.

I recorded it on my TV, an mpg file. Problem is it is 612,717KB. Half commercials and I don't know how to edit out or where to post. Give me a clue and I'll see what I can do.

if you want, let me download it from you or burn me a cd of it and i'll edit it and put it up...

it's easy enough to do.. if you have windows xp, use the built in movie maker. it's pretty intuitive.

I watched the last 8 laps on TV yesterday. Was the 944 a turbo? It would have to be very, very light to keep up with a GT3 otherwise. A GT3 has significant hp.

I believe the 944 was a "S" model. I think it had the pole too. I caught the last half of the race and that 944 definitely gave the 911 GT3 a fantastic run.

I have windows XP and will look for the moviemaker. If not, I think I know how to do with another program. I'll try to get it done late tonight or early tomorrow and get it posted for you all. Regarding the 944 it has a 3 liter engine, 55 DCOE Weber Carbs, 2280 pounds approx with driver.

OK, got it edited but still 604MB. Anyone know where I can go to carry such a large program? Google video?

save it as a wmv... it'll be much smaller... change the audio to mono... and make the resolution (screen size) smaller..

Pozican, the CD in mail to you. Commercials edited out. You may want to do more. Hope you have somewhere to host. Thanks for your help. I'll take my lap top and will be able to answer questions if needed. I attended the race and know the 944 well.

It was definitely not a turbo, but a very well-built car, light of course, IIRC running a 3.0L w/ carbs.

So, I just encoded it in xvid, and it's down to 293meg, with zero *visible* quality loss.

Doing another encode with different settings -- will be uploading tonight regardless
