Help with FRWilk chip 1983 944 part2

hello,
i installed the board into my dme. to get the four old chips out was a P.I.T.A. i soldered in the board. had one wire that lost contact with the board so i made a separate connection from it to one of the holes in the taken out rom. same place number, of course. i checked the wiring for shorts. non shorts. i checked the wilk boards connection points in relation to the other taken out chips and all of the connections were ok.
the dme now does not work. has someone experience with having done this. i contacted fr (i am sure he is reading this now) and hope to hear from him. let me know and i will do the same.

Were you grounded while you did this? You could try reflowing all the solder joints in the DME. I wish I knew more...

yea, it's kinda hard.. especially with a soldering job like this... for us to tell where you went wrong..
in answer to your question, no.. i didn't experience this when installing the chip... but go back over everything again... did you install the red capacitor the correct way around after removing it?

yes,
both the caps that were taken out and put back in look un-polarized. but i do thinkl i returned them the same way. i checked all pins with each other. eg pin 1 with the other pin 1s. i checked for shorts between pins and there were none. i asked wilk if he would look at it. i sure hope he will. thanks,
ernest
