89 944 questions
Hey everyone, I am new here. I am going to look at an 89 944 tomorrow morning. I am planning on buying the car as a project car. I know this year and model are the only ones that came with the 2.7 L motor. What does this mean for my hopes of turbo charging? Would I be best off just pulling the motor and buying a used turbo motor? Or would some ofthe turbo parts bolt up (manifold, xover pipe)?
Any advice you guys want to share for when I look at the car is appreciated too. |

The best option is just to buy a turbo already done by Porsche if that is what you want.

Turboing is an +8000$ option. Better just buy a turbo and start there. Use the Search button and look up Turbo conversion and you'll find all the details why it's not done.
Please Read http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?threadid=314244 Good luck with the Car.

I do not recommend turbocharging that car, however, the 2.7 head is what you need to turbocharge a 3.0 liter engine from a 944S2 or 968 and use the 951 externals.
