Engine stand adapter - what kind?

I have never put my 3.4L on an engine stand and was wondering what engine stand adapter is needed. I have a good engine stand but not the typical 911 adapter. What kind do you guys recommend for the 996 engine? Thanks

I used a standard one from checker auto, it supports the weight and mounts in 4 places which good to me.

Wouldn't it be the same as for a 911?

I have not tried with the 911, however as you can see that the 4 mounting places are adjustable in height and length.

I just used my standard one I've had as well this weekend. I used all 4 mounting spots; didn't need the special air-cooled adapter I've seen. thanks

Well, I've used this engine stand adapter before and has worked just fine. I used 4 of the tranny to engine bolts and it's very sturdy.

How high does the rear have to be up to clear for engine removal? Curious why are you removing? Great job so far. Be safe.

I actually lower the engine onto my ATV jack you can see a little of in the picture. I removed the engine to replace with a new one after a very strong coolant/oil cocktail mix.

I understand, but how high does the rear of the car need to go up for new eng to be put underneath? Where did you get new engine I need one also.

Mother, I saw your post on Rennlist. I ordered mine new from Sunset. With the front wheels on the ground the back end doesn't need to come up that high actually. My regular jackstands do the trick.
