Hi
My name Chris, and after more than 30 years I have another Porsche. My first Porsche was a new 1970 911 S. I sold it in 76, big mistake! I've had dreams about that car over the years. strange but true. I just purchased a 2000 / 996 / Carrera, 45000 mi. tip-tonic. 18 in. 8-10" turbo wheels, 7mm front, 14mm rear wheel spacers. The previous owner threw in a set of Brembo Big Red 4-Piston, Monobloc Turbo Calipers. P/N RF - 996.351. 430.10, LF - 996.351. 429.10, RR - 996.352. 426.60, LR - 996.352. 425.69. All fitted with Parid RS4-4 Orange Pads. My Questions : P/N for Porsche, F & R drilled rotors, any emergence brake mods, any mounting hardware mods, I know rear rotors will be larger, abs mods, any modification needed to make this brake upgrade complete? I'm a currently a ships chief engineer working in the Gulf of Mexico offshore oil drilling industry. My project when I return home to San Diego,CA. this month, will be working on the Porsche brake system. I want to start running the local PCA autocross again. Any and all Info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Chris Silva Last edited by Chris Silva; 08-12-2008 at 04:19 AM.. |

Hi Chris,
Just wanted to post in the event you decide not to do the upgrade as I'd be interested in the calipers. Otherwise, good luck! Cheers Aaron |

Chris.. Congrats on the purchase! Don't let selling your S get you down! My humble opinion is that the brakes on a stock 996 are so good, why upgrade? I say sell the brakes and use the money to pay for all those autocrosses (and sticky tires
)
