Question Occasional 996 tip engine stall

My 996 tip occasionally and randomly stalls when shifting from drive to reverse or vica versa. The PST2 comp said it was Mass Air Flow. Replaced that and now happening again.
Only thing noticable (as it happens randomly) is that the engine idle speed drops from about 1200 to 700 rapidly as the gear selector is located. Then it stalls. Any clues ?
