Exclamation Pleae help Dead Battery

Hi Everyone,
Hopefully someone can help..
I have a 1999 C4,

One night last week, the battery in my key was dead so i had to manually unlock the doors...Everything was fine, car started, no problems, (put in a new battery in my key) ......The next morning the car was completely dead, no interior lights, nothing.....I jumped the car, car started...next morning dead again...
Yesterday morning i had a new Battery installed and alternator checked...everything was fine, used the car all day....Again this morning the car was completely dead.

Any suggestions on what this could be???
Please help

Thanks

Use a multi-meter, you have a dead short somewhere in the car.

Try also cleaning your battery terminals and the ground cable to your chassis.

cheers

Plug in a code reader and see if you get any fault codes.

Does your key work the locks now? Does the alarm set when you use remote lock? Does the alarm horn work if you reach through the open window and open the trunk? Do a few things to test the alarm to make sure it is working correctly.
You might have toasted some of the alternator diodes when you jumped it. You said you had it checked so I would suspect something in the alarm system.

So where is the battery on the 996? Mine just died and I'm too lazy to look around for it Cheers! (I'm referring to the car battery and not the key battery obviously heheh)

Where is the battery? Open the front trunk and right at the back, immediately in front of the windscreen, there is a plastic panel. The center section of this is held down with two plastic 1/4 turn fasteners. Undo these and lift the center cover. It should then pull forward out of the hinge at the back. The battery is under there.
