Exhaust question...does it really give HP

Does changing out the cat to 200CPSI units and getting some sport mufflers really make any proven difference in performance?

Fabspeed and others claim 12-15hp. Seems like nothing to me coming from Turbo cars all my life...

Anyone really test this?

Other say get rid of the muffler s and just go high flow cats to muffler delete pipes...

Opinions?

There have been issues with Check engine lights with some of the 200 cell cats, so you might want to look into that. I have the Fabspeed mufflers. I doubt them give much HP, but they sound great and do take some weight off the back end. I have heard 996s with the cats and muffler bypass pipes and they are pretty loud in my opinion.

I personally don't like them at all. They are loud and obnoxious like the D&D pipe on my sport bike LOL I prefer low rumbles than the high pitched squeals. They just make it sound cheap and "slow" in my opinion like a four banger civic with a big muffler and not much else. Check youtube for sounds. There are a lot of videos on there with different configs so you can see how they sound before investing.

As for horsepower, combine the exhaust with a high flow air filter + remapping your ECU and you will definitely gain noticeable horses for pretty cheap!

No point in exhaling if you can't inhale and burn!!!
