Question What is the "motor sound" option?

I'm looking for a simple explanation of what it is and, ideally, how it works.
Thanks in advance,
John

I have no idea what you're talking about....the only thing I can possibly think of is perhaps the installation of the PSE muffler option.

There was something called that for the 993 but never heard of it for the 996.

Okay Chuck, I may be thinking 993. You might be on to what I'm after, though. Is PSE just a different piece of hardware, or does it involve some kind of (vacuum?) controlled bypass... or something?

TIA

PSE is Porsche Sport Exhaust....I don't recall when it was first offered on the cars, but it's actually a dash controlled solenoid that opens and closes a bypass that gives you a sporty versus a more modified and "civil" sound for those of you who had strict CCR's or *****y neighbors who complain. The PSE exhaust is one of the best sounding (IMHO) of those offered out there and it gives you the additonal option of several sounds....which the others don't give you.
