Change oil with Oil Extractor?

Hello-
Noob just wondering if anyone has changed their oil by using the oil extrator pump/canister. Does the oil filler flexible hose lead directly to the sump?
I currently use the extractor on my other cars via the dipstick tube but the 997 of course doesn't have one.

I wouldn't expect a good draining of the oil and sediments with that method. A large shallow pan should work or the easy way is back up the car so that the rear end is hanging over a curb. Can't believe you change oil that way.

Yep it works great on all my other cars. Drive the car and get the oil hot so the dirt is suspended. I change oil every 2-3k miles, no time for sludge buildup. As far as draining it gets it all. With the 911 with longer change intervals I will use the standard method however.

I would hope you have a Bimmer or Benz. I believe the dealer canges the oil that way. Saves them from taking off the belly pan, and the dipsick tube goes just about to the bottom of the pan. most other brands dont do this, so i would be skeptical that you are getting all of the oil out
