996 buyers guide?

I'm considering the purchase of a 996 c4s as a daily driver (102 parkway miles per day) and wanted to know if there is a thread or link to a reliable buyers guide that you can recommend. I am looking at 03 or 04 and if I can afford it, 05 models to avoid potential RMS issues. Anything else I should be looking for. I will definately get a PPI but it is helpful to have your combined experience behind me. I purchased my 911 SC off this board and have been extremely happy...with the car and continued advice given here. Thank you. Patrick

check rennlist.com and or renntech.org I just did I could not come up with a buyers guide per say, but there is a LOT of 996 info in either site.

You need to join for ~$15 - well worth it. If you want to do a search and also have access to all of the site on renntech. I'm not sure how far you can go on rennlist try it.

Check a recent back issue of Excellence magazine. They had a buyers guide for the 996.

I don't believe RMS issues were not resolved by '03, or 04 or 05.. They may be reduced, but not cured.

Porsche never completely solved the RMS issue in the M96/97 motors until they changed over to the new direct injection motor.

The 996/997 Excellence magazine market update is in the September 2009 edition.
