Hi,
first of all, I am not a tracker and not willing to go to track. I'm just a normal car driver. Somebody recommended me to use Hankook tire if so cause it is not a performance tire and it would last longer if I am not going to drive crazy. What is the REAL TRUTH? is the tire going to mass up my car?(even though I dont go to tracks>??) If I have those hankook tire for REAR and have my original tires for FRONT. the two tires gonna work differently ,right? Is that going to harm car? |

The Ventus R-s3 is a good dry weather tire. It isn't adviseable to mix tires but it can be done as long as you aren't using different tires on the left and right. Different front and rear tires isn't as drastic. For just driving around town your idea should work OK.
Since you don't race around one main place you can find trouble in mixing the tires like you want to is during rain or heavy braking. Since two different tires would have different braking charicteristics it could cause trouble during the worst time for it. Continental and General Tires have some good high performance tires you might be able to pick up. Continental 'ExtremeContact DW' and General Tires 'Exclaim UHP' Ultra High Performance Summer are good dry and wet tires with out the high price for a name. |

Thank for the notes guys.
I think that would be enough for me to just drive around the town.

The Hankooks are perfectly fine tires, but you should buy a full set of four if you're going to switch. Might be better now to just buy two rears to match your current fronts and then swap to the Hankook when it's time for your next set (which will probably be all four).

If you are just a "normal car driver" then why drive an $80K car? Considering tires are the only component of your car to actually touch the road, I would prefer to get (pay) for a tire that does a better job of communicating the road to me. i know tires are expensive, but surely you didn't think 911's came with $120 tires right?
