996 2004 turbo engine number location

Hi,
I have just returned home to Australia with my 2004 966 turbo and commencing LO3 and Registration inspections here in QLD. Where is the engine number located? as when you open the engine cover,, well, not too much room to see any thing. Maybe the Rego guys are used to them, but just want to make sure if they ask ME where it is, I can say "there", or get a mirror and look underneath...

OK, Spoke to the dealer. They said underneath the car stamped on the underside of the crankcase...Not sure how the Registration guys see this number without jacking the big girl up.
