200 C4 PSM warning

Need advice. Was driving over the weekend, everything is going great. Suddenly the PSM failure light comes on as well as the ABS failure light. No appreciable difference in the car's handling. Since then, when I start the car, I simply turn off the PSM and everything is fine. I don't track the car and only drive it on sunny, dry days. Am I doing any long-term damage? I'd have it looked at sooner, but the IRS still owns me for the foreseeable future.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

As strange as it sounds, you might need to replace your MAF sensor. Do some searching on Rennlist forums, this comes up every now and then.

Check to see if your brake lights are coming on when they should. These symptoms have been reported when the brake light switch fails or is maladjusted.

Both sound advice. Ill add that you could remove the MAF and start the car to see of psm/abs goes off. 2 little torx safety size 25 IIRC.

Update

Changed the MAF and the ABS and PSM failure warning lights went off. NOW, the check engine light came on. This is getting frustrating. I got 4 new tires about a 2 weeks before all of this started. Any connection b/w the tires and the warnings?

Did you change tire sizes when you put the new ones on?

Same tire size, different make. Went with Hankooks instead of Michelins. There is a little bumpiness in the drive, but I know the rims are a little bent from the previous owner, and that existed with the old tires as well. I called my mechanic and he asked if the steering wheel was centered. I noticed that the steering wheel is off center about 20-30 degrees from center.
