Defective oil guage warning + free pic of car ;)

2002 C4S 70,000 KM....

Anyone ever get a defective oil guage warning messge on the OBC ? I don't have the exact wording cause my OBC is in french but I changed the language english and will wait for it to appear again. My favorite gear head hooked it up and saw the message. Thinks its a sensor. Oil pressure guage works (but sometimes sticks to the top (especially when not at running temp). Car has oil and when I turn key on it measures fine.

Thanks for looking Cheers!

Chances are it's the oil pressure sender going bad or the connections are loose/corrosion.

Thanks Rick, you are probably right. Did a quick search based on your definition of what the unit is called. Do you know where it is located and it is easy to change without draining oil etc...?

The oil pressure sender is located on top of the passenger head between cylinders 5 & 6 intake runners.

I had that same problem. Worrying at first until you work out that the oil pressure is actually fine and that it is a spurious signal that is causing the problem. I replaced the oil pressure sender with a new one from our host and the warnings have not returned.

Aerkuld,

Thanks for letting me know that. I intend to order one and change it this winter. I will let you know if it is that as well. I am pretty convinced with the posts that the Oil Pressure Sender is the problem. I intend to support our host and buy it here.

Thanks
