GT3 Brake Squeal

Hello

Just purchased a used 2004 GT3 with 12000 miles. According to the dealer the car had never been tracked or raced.
The vehicle is showing the appropriate wear for a vehicle with this amount of mileage, i.e not a lot.

I don't think the pads have been changed but the brakes squeal at every stop.

I have always been light on the brakes, don't jump on the "brake pedal" but provide a light even pressure.

What are my options beyond purchasing a new set of pad. The squeal is loud and as said, happens with every stop.

Try the fun cheap solutions first, while the brakes are cold try to wash away all the brake dust where the pads contact the rotors with a water hose & then drive the car & brake hard to try & "deglaze" the pads & rotors.

+1 on BY's answer. I had some squeal when light on the brakes. When I wash my car,I spray down the rotors to wash out all the built up brake dust. This helps a lot.

If you blow the rotors out w/ air first then flush w/ water then drive them dry that works pretty well,

additionally put a slight chamfer on the leading edges and lube the guide rails w/ brake paste

when all else fails try a softer pad like Pagid blue or Textar oems(996-352-949-03)

Thumbs up

All

bought a set of the "Anti-Squeal Pad Inserts, Set Of Eight" from Pelican - all brake squeal noise is now gone - less than 1 hour to do front and rear using the Spring Clip Brake Tool for GT2/GT3, also from Pelican.
Couldn't believe how easy to do - quickest brake pad removal and reinstall I have ever done.
