2001 996 Cabriolet Roof Problem

Hi, Bit of a newbie here on this forum, anyway I have been having a problem with the roof on my 2001 996 cabriolet.

When I close the roof up it generally doesn't close first time and needs a second go (or a little encouragement) for the hook to engage into the latch.

Is there a way to retrain the roof or make an adjustment somewhere to get the roof to close first time, the hook is getting pretty scratched up from all the knocking against the top sill of the car and I'm getting pretty fed up

Any help would be appreciated

Sometimes the hydraulic rams for lifting the top leak fluid. Once enough fluid has leaked out the top will not lift. The pump will still run but it will time out and stop. If you see oil in front of your rear wheels the rams need to be replaced. I forget if you need to remove a interior panel to see the rams from above. Not sure if this is your problem just a FYI.

Whatever you do if you know or suspect you have a leak or fluid in low i that reservoir, do not let the pump run dry. The repair parts have been superceded to a new design that requires many parts to be trplaced and upgraded and can be very expensive. Bite the bullt and have someone take a look soon or it may cost you $$$ later.
