factory manual help
Does anyone here know a place that still might sell the factory manuals for the 996 turbo/GT2?
My shop had a load of stuff stolen from it, this set amongst the missing, so if you happen to see someone hawking porsche manuals and factory tooling cheap in the northeast area let me know. I looked into that deal that Sunset Auto apparently had through Excellence Mag, was told they had one set left and ordered it this morning. They went to ship it and called me back to tell me it was for a base 996, not the Turbo so the order was cancelled. I'm really at this point just in need of the engine supplements for torque specs, bearing clearances, machine specs for the heads/valves etc, etc. Everything else I can just live without for the time being. I DO NOT want illegal stuff, I want to buy a legitimate factory copy of this either paperback or on CD(if something exists) I haven't been able to locate anything, and nobody is willing to loan the engine volumes even with me giving them a retainer fee plus cash in the end for being generous. Understandable none the less. I feel at a loss here ![]() :

Sorry to hear about your loss Adam. I only have the Boxster Manuals & besides M96 torque specs it has very little of the specs you are seeking for your engine. You might want to call Tony Callas's shop @ 1-310370-7038 or www.callasrennsport Tony writes the tech forum for Excellence magazine & teaches a continuing education course for Porsche techs.

I will certainly give him a call and talk to him about this. I appreciate the information and heads up!
If anyone else has any information or leads please please let me know. Or if someone here has an engine supplement for the M96/70 that they're willing to loan me for a few days I will GLADLY pay you for the opportunity to do so. At this point I'm pretty much at the mercy of those who have them.

You can contact Suncoast Porsche to see if they have any as well. SunSET Porsche is out of them as you said...but they do buy a container full of books now and again.

Cd manual
I purchased a CD from "Factory Service Manual" 386 Willcreek DR Midland, Ontario N1A 5G9 Canada, last christmas. It appears to cover just about everything, although the info is way over my head, I dont have any of the trouble shooting tools/test eqiupment req'd for diagnosis. Sorry about your loss...........
