Clutch disc replacement on 2007 997 GT3RS

Hi new to the forum, and straight away asking for help.
A bit of history, I own a 2007 rs, with a clutch thats starting to slip on full throttle, i want to change it, local mechanics are unfamiliar with the car so wanted some expert advise on how the work should be done, i am not a mechanic however I am competent to supervisor the available mechanics. saw a excellent step by step guide for a 993 engine removal, really wanted something like that for the 2007 GT3RS

In reality, it's nothing that a competent mechanic can't do. There's not alot to goof up. There are many Porsche things that can be complicated, or require special tooling but it's just a RWD car and the gearbox comes down easy on it.

You don't have to completely remove the engine for this job, just loosen the rear carrier and tilt it down a little(after disconnecting appropriate front tranny supports and related linkages/driveline gear)

Could you possibly advise if the procedure for transmission removal is the same for a 996 and the 997?

Here, this is for 996 it is about 10 pages of info.
Porsche 996 Rear Main Seal (RMS) Removal and Re-Install - Honda, Acura Tech Website, tutorials, tuning and HOW-TO's. Drag racing, street racing, road racing - C-speedracing.com

Buy the way if you are going to do it, please take lots of photos and make a documentary, do it yourself tread about it. Just what ever you do, do not rush any thing and take your time. If your RMS leaks a lot, change that too. If you buy a shop manual, that will always help too, specially if your local mechanics are unfamiliar with your car. let use now.
