996 vs 986 rear calipers

Hi,

Are rear 986 calipers the same as 996 rear calipers?

Part #'s 996.352.421 and 996.352.422

If memory serves, no, they are not the same. The 986 (base) rear calipers are smaller. The rotor is smaller too.

Boxster S front brakes are the same as 996 front brakes. Not sure if Boxster S rears are the same as 996 rears.

The answer is no but close. The 986 has a 20 mm rear disc where the 996 has a 24 mm disc.
