When to change fuel filter?
Pelicans,
I just acquired a 1999 996 with 76k miles on it!!! The previous owner took good care of the car, but I changed the oil and filter, pollen filter, air filter to get a baseline on the maintenance. The fuel filter is a bit more difficult to change and because i dont have a lift to raise the car, I was going to have the fuel filter changed by a pro. A friend told me that the fuel filter should be good for 30k miles. It was changed 16k miles ago. Should i change it now, or wait till I do major service at 90K?????. The air filter that i changed was dirty, but not too bad....leads me to believe that fuel filter is still OK? Thanks, |

Because your filter may be located in the center hull mid-chassis it can be a difficult job, I've done it with and with out a lift, it's not easy but worth it, just be sure to use protection, it can get messy... a plastic drop cloth and glasses make it safe.
