M450 PCCB Replacement
I probably should have checked the 911BBS board first. I'm doing some preliminary research on 997s, and is a car I'd like to get into next. Cars with the M450 Ceramic brakes seemed to have come along with other nice options such as sport chrono, sport seats, and full leather. While these brakes are probably nice, what is the cost of replacing rotors and pads? The M450 option was expensive when new ($8K). Is it equally as expensive once they require replacement? Do they really go to 100k miles before requiring replacement? I've seen some posts where GT3 brakes were replaced with steel brakes. Has anyone done this with a 997? What is the cost, part numbers etc...
I also noticed on Pelican, I didn't see any replacement PCCB discs listed "Not for cars with M450" |

My 05 997S has 45K miles and the pads are half worn from new. The pads cost more than regular brakes but I don't believe they are terribly expensive, and they really do last up to 100K miles. They are awesome brakes. The really expensive parts are the rotors but they shouldn't ever need replacement.
