GT3 chassis on stock 996?

Hi,

My newly bought 2000 996 Carrera looks like a jeep, especially with the 19" wheels I am planning to get for it.

Since I am not sure about just changing to aftermarket parts, I am considering the GT3 chassis. There must be a few used out there, from track conversions. Does the chassis fit on my 996?

Is this a good idea considering ride height, comfort and so on? Is there anyone here that have doe this?

Thanks,

Johan

"does the chassis fit" doesn't even make sense!

The 996 GT3 and the 996 use the same "chassis".. However, and this is perhaps your question, the GT3 uses some different suspension components than the standard car. The 996 Cup car uses still different components than the regular 996.

Changing items like shocks, struts, control arms etc will certainly effect items like ride height, camber and overall road comfort. So.. How do you use the car? Do you merely want to "lower" the car? Are you looking for something else?

I'm a bit confused as to what you're asking as well. Do you just want to lower the car?

Sorry, language confusion. In Sweden we call the struts, shocks and sway bars "chassis", but apperantly there are other things included in the US "chassis".

I want it lower and stiffer, better handling but not race-stiff. And I want to change struts, shocks and maybe sway bars, no control arms.

Any ideas?
