996 TT overfilled with oil

I friend of mine had the oil changed in his 996 TT and they overfilled it so much that it's smoking like crazy. Any ideas what would be required to clean out the oil in catalytic convertors, mufflers and anywhere else it may have gone? What would it damage also?
Thanks

If the oil change was done at a reputable shop, take the car back to them and make them rectify the problem.
Oil changes are very simple, but you here of so many horror stories like your mates.
Not sure what else would be damaged, but I think the cats are probably toast.
Are you sure the smoke is being caused by overfull oil and not a blown AOS?

+2 on AOS

Should have started with ~9qts.
It really should not hurt anything unless it was so full that it hydrolocked.
If it did it would not smoke because it would not turnover.
Drain it to correct level and run it on the highway to burn off the excess. (at night)

Smooth, it's sort of like I had mentioned in the previous messages I had sent.

If the Cat's are clogged up, and if the oxygen sensors are not operating correctly or
coated or fried. Sure you could get an oxygen sensor issue / error / code.

Good luck smooth.
