Considering a 997 S - Advice please?
Hi all,
I'm thinking of upgrading the BMW 530i M Sport to a 997 S. Just wandering what sort of things I should look out for? Also, are the 997's child friendly? Would it accommodate two young children OK? Kids are only 8 and 11 ![]() The wife and I aren't very tall either ![]() Advice appreciated

For me, at least, 911's have been very kid-friendly, as my kids and their friends always liked riding in the two I've had. The 997 actually seems to have just a bit LESS legroom than the older air-cooled cars, and my youngest son is just growing out of the back seat now (he rides up front when he can with the "smart" airbag deactivated - there is a little lamp that goes on when the weight is too low in the passenger seat). I am 5'11'' and he is 4'8'', and with the seat set right for me, he is no longer comfortable in the seat behind me.

530i vs a 997?
1)Tons of room vs no room 2) good kid carrier vs not 3) tour ship handling vs Porsche!

Who cares if the kid is comfortable. I used to contort just for the pleasure of riding in my folks 911. Kids are young and flexible. Till they are about 15 or so, make em "suffer"

The 997S is a solid car and a huge leap over the base model. Your kids will be more giddy than crammed in the back seat.

The back seat of any Carrera is not a place that is considered comfortable unless you fit in a baby seat.
