996 purchse timing

Hello All, Looking for a 996 cabrio. As Summer creeps into Fall, I'm thinking if I put off the search until Spring / Summer '12, I should see bertter prices for 00-01 cabrios. Is this a reasonable assumption? Thanks in advance. Great forum.
Al

best time to buy a convertible is during winter, worst time is Summer. I'd start searching in Dec/Jan/Feb those are going to be your best months.

If you want a car for next spring or summer, don't wait until the last minute to search. Start searching now. Use the time to learn options, equipment, prices, etc. That way you'll have an idea what a fair price is and what equipment you want. They say convertible prices are lower in the winter, but I doubt it matters much. It's just another variable. I personally wouldn't want to try to check out a used sports car in the middle of winter, unless it was someplace without ice and snow.

It doesn't sound unreasonable, although you'll want to get details on it, obviously. A good place to check prices is Excellence Magazine's site:

Excellence :: Buyers Guide : 911: 1999-2008

Also, some significant improvements were made for the 2002 and up models, so don't rule those out.
