Can anyone tell me what this rotting hose goes to? The car is an 02 911. Thanks!

It may just be cosmoline sprayed on the motor for protection making the outside of the coolant hose look. Have it serviced recently?

That is a coolant hose. The crap on it and the 4-6 chain area/oil pump looks to be oil/dirt. It could be from bad spark plug o-rings or the AOS going bad blowing oil out the vent on top of head 4-6 under the A/C compressor.
