I figure someone else here has encountered this before and has the answer...
Building a 2003 996 3.6L engine, M96.03 with e-throttle (M620). The core engine came with a cable operated throttle body, but the chassis we're installing it into is e-throttle. We sourced a new 1999-2005 996 e-throttle body and it has a 4-bolt square mounting pattern and a round opening. Part # 996.105.115.01. It supersedes to a 997 number (997.605.115.01), the same part as the 997/S, 987/S, Cayenne, and 997 Turbo. The intake manifold plenum (996.110.215.53) has a trapezoid 4-bolt pattern and an oblong opening. No other version plenum is listed in the 996 parts catalog. Does anyone know the part number of an e-throttle body with the trapezoid bolt pattern? Or is the answer to use a 997 plenum tube? ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks,

Resolved. Porsche was vague with their descriptions in the parts catalog and the one designated as specific to a C4 (M339) is the correct part.

Hi TurboKraft,
How did you deal with the differences in wiring for the two throttle bodies? Did you swap the wiring harnesses; where there any problems doing that? Unfortunately, I put the inlet manifold / throttle body from my replacement engine to one side and did not notice that it had the cable operated throttle body, until the engine was lifted up into the engine bay - doh! So, I think the solution is to move the wiring harness from my original (seized) e-body harness to the new engine??? Any advice mucho appreciated, best regards, Dean |
