Gas tank won't fill completely 996. Why

My girlfriend and I both drive 996's. Neither car will fill all the way w/o
clicking past the turnoff point about 8 times. Any fix for this??

Thank you

If you stop at the first "click" and drive away does the gauge creep up in a few miles? Many do.
It is not good to "stuff" these tanks. It can overwhelm the vapor recovery system resulting in CELs and much aggravation getting things squared away again.

If you can only put in a few cups at a time then you should look at TSB (Fuel Tank Hose Modification 5/99 2015

Scroll thrugh this thread look at post 13 on pg 1.
